If you enjoy the races, it doesn’t get much better than a trip to Ascot Racecourse.

Only a 25-minute drive from Thames Retreat, you will be perfectly positioned to take advantage of everything this famous racecourse has to offer, from Royal Ascot in June, the food and wine festival in September, fireworks for Halloween, and much more besides.

A country trail

Of course, life isn’t always about big plans and days out. Pick up part of the Thames Path for a beautiful stroll along the National Trail, which was originally
opened in 1996 and spans 184 miles!

If you’re feeling energetic you can follow this route all the way to Hampton Court Palace, which is around 12 miles from the Thames Retreat park and poses the perfect walking or cycling challenge.

Location, Location, Location...

The location of Thames Retreat means you are less than an hour’s driving distance from a few towns such as Chertsey and Windsor.

Or head to Weybridge, a town most noted for its motoring heritage, which is celebrated at the Brooklands Museum and the Mercedes-Benz World Complex.

Walton on Thames is also nearby, offering shops and restaurants as well as a retail complex called The Heart. Enjoy riverside walks here or head to The Elmbridge Xcel Leisure Complex, which houses a range of sporting activities including swimming pools, health and fitness suite, climbing wall, squash and badminton courts, aerobic studios, and an indoor bowls hall.
